BARS & RESTAURANTS

Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets at Club Med are filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, pasta, seafood, cheeses, breads, and desserts. Food and presentation have a distinctive French touch, and daily changing themesincluding Italian, Asian, Mexican & Creole to keep things from getting boring.  Friday & Saturday nights are usually the Grand Buffet, with delicacies that include caviar, poached salmon, stuffed mussels, shrimp, crab and numerous extravagant desserts.

BEACHES AND RAINFOREST

The islands have lovely white sand beaches but also a wildlife-infested rainforest and the highest waterfall in the Caribbean. Basse-Terre has a rough volcanic terrain; Grande-Terre has rolling hills and flat plains. There are also lush mountainous areas with stunning and unspoiled tropical scenery.  The islands are a divers' paradise, described by Jacques Cousteau as among the top 10 dive sites in the world.  La Caravelle lies amongst 1,500 feet of an oceanfront coconut-tree lined beach. This Club Med Resort is a very romantic village and is also great for couples to get away and relax.  The Club Med Resort is located on one of the Caribbean's most beautiful beaches with white sand and emerald sea. A 1800 foot long public beach with fine sand. Sea is calm and easily accessible. This beach is fitted with showers, loungers, parasols and a beach bar. The gardens that surround the resort consist essentially of coconut trees and palm trees and olive trees without forgetting a botanical garden. Water features adorn this landscape.

Accommodations

The resort includes several buildings. "Les Saintes", set of one-level bungalows, in a more isolated location, close to the specialty restaurant and the beach. "Marie Galante", a two-storey building, with no elevator and "Basse Terre" and "Grande Terre" buildings. In "Basse Terre" rooms are on five floors with an elevator.  In "Grande Terre" rooms are on two floors, with a garden or ocean view (no elevator or balcony).   Club room
