The Club Med Resort of Punta Cana has 553 rooms are divided in colorful bungalows with pastel hues. The bungalows, with 3 floors, are ideally designed for families, and are amidst the tropical gardens

Club Room - These rooms offer a quiet space. These rooms are ideal for couples or Families. All rooms include separate sleeping area for children. Available in connecting space.

Deluxe Room Family - These rooms offer enough space for 3 children and two adults and include a full bathroom and are located across from the children's clubs.

Punta Cana is the type of vacation where the resort has everything and one never has to go outside the gates.  The nearest city, Higuey, is about a 40 minute drive away. Beyond the resort is mostly empty countryside. You can literally walk for miles along the beach without seeing anything but an occasional unfinished construction project or the next hotel. El Cortecito, located between Punta Cana-Bavaro and Macao, is the closest thing to a little beach town in the area. Nearby is Manatee Park, a wildlife ecological adventure site and the Ponce de Leon house is near Boca de Yuma, a choice for fresh fish lunches by the seaside. Handicraft vendors rotate offering market day at Club Med. 

ABOUT THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

The second largest nation in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic occupies the eastern two-thirds of the island of Hispaniola in the Greater Antilles, with Haiti occupying the western portion. Situated in the heart of the region between North and South America, the country is bathed by the Caribbean Sea on the south coast and the Atlantic Ocean to the north. With a land area of 48,442 square kilometers, it is larger than the Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, all the Virgin Islands and the entire French West Indies put together.

BARS & RESTAURANTS

There are 3 restaurants at this resort.  A snack bar on the beach, a sit down restaurant on the beach near the children's clubs and an amazing buffet restaurant with individual stations where they make your food for you right in front of you.  The buffets at Club Med are filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, pasta, seafood, cheeses, breads, and desserts. Food and presentation have a distinctive French touch, and daily changing themes (Italian, Asian, Mexican, etc.) keep things from getting boring.  Friday & Saturday nights are usually the Grand Buffet, with delicacies that include caviar, poached salmon, stuffed mussels, shrimp, crab and numerous extravagant desserts.

Attractions & Excursions

The beach is the number one attraction in the East Coast area, stretching an amazing 50 kilometers. With few exceptions, most hotels and developments only limit land access and honor Dominican law whereby beaches are public. You can freely stroll the beach strip going from one hotel's beach front to another.

The array of water sports options offered right on the beach is amazing: catamaran boat rides, restaurant dining at sunset on the sea, glass bottom boats for marine life observation, sports fishing, diving, snorkeling, speed boats. The boat taxis can take you from one hotel to another via the beach. There is also, kayaking, windsurfing, sailing and beach volleyball.

But here are other activities to consider:

Safari-type excursions on four-wheel bikes, buggy rides, jeep safaris, monster trucks or helicopter rides. Club Med's excursions include these adventure tours that take the tourists to observe tropical wilderness, visit a countryside home where typical Dominican food lunch will be served, examine tropical crops, take a dip at a deserted beach or for a swim in a cool river.

Horseback riding is also popular in Punta Cana with the option of riding on deserted white-sand beaches. There is also Marinarium. This marine park on the sea offers snorkeling with sharks and rays.

Dolphin Island and the Blue Lagoon is a short boat ride takes you to the artificial island created where tourists can have a swim with trained dolphins right in the sea. The package includes a 15-minute free time with the dolphins.

Educational activities, walks, a restorative siesta before outdoor games. And, of course, all the tempting treats of the afternoon snack. From 6.30 p.m., the Baby Restaurant welcomes babies and their parents for a family dinner. For your information: diapers and formula are not provided at Baby Club Med. Various Baby items can be purchased at our gift shop, just in case you forget. Weekly pricing $525CAD.
